Well, today I am 19 weeks and 1 day pregnant so I have about half a pregnancy worth of adventures to catch up on. We found out I was pregnant in November. I took a test a little early and it was negative so we thought I wasn't. However, something just told me to go buy another test and try again about a week later and suprise suprise, Positive!!! Then the fun kicked in. I started feeling sick around Thanksgiving. I thought I was miserable but I had no idea what I was in for. For the whole first trimester I was so ridiculously sick. I lost about 10 pounds at the beginning of my pregnancy. They put me on a prescription so I could keep at least some liquids down.
I made it past the first trimester which was a relief having had a miscarriage previously. In January I awaited the day the nausea would end and I would be able to eat like a normal human being again. It never came :-( Unfortunately, I think I am doomed to be sick until July. *sigh*
At 13 weeks I had my second ultrasound because of some scary symptoms. Everything looked great and they sent me on my way. I started feeling the baby kick at 17 weeks! That was proabably the most exciting thing to happen so far. We definetly have a wiggly baby!!
On Tuesday of this past week I had to go to the hospital for another ultrasound because of some cramps and stuff. I asked them if they could tell me the gender but they said they were looking at the placenta and things and they wouldn't be looking at the baby itself. What a bummer!! Just an extra minute and a little slide to the side and we would know, but no luck. Everything looked ok in the ultrasound but I am now on what I like to call pregnant lady probation. My doctor's office called yesterday and told me to take the rest of the week off of work. For the next two weeks I am not supposed to do any physical activity besides walking around. I cannot pick up anything heavier than a milk jug. For this weekend I am pretty much stuck doing nothing but laying down... It is killing me! I am just not patient enough to sit around and do nothing. Probably what put me here in the first place was wanting to start getting the nursery put together so I put the crib, changing table, and dresser together by myself. Probably not a good choice.
My big ultrasound appointment is on Wednesday. I just cannot wait to find out if we are having a boy or a girl!!! Anyway, that's a quick catch up for the first half of this pregnancy. It is absolutely taking everything I have. Whatever happens, I sure earned this baby with my blood, sweat, and puke. :-D
